Originally, DCU proxy (now translator proxy) for EuComMeet is born in 2022-2023 during EuComMeet project to manage string in Nextcloud Talk chat to be sent and received to a remote server for translation.
The original Web API of the DCU Proxy is available here DCU Proxy Web API. The OpenNMT-MT-Server is mainly using Open-NMT and anyone can set that up separately.
In both cases, the proxy run as a service on your server. It can be configured to work with different translation services, locally by default, or remote.
N.B.: The string in the Nextcloud Talk chat is translated accordingly to the user locale.
